ZTE cooperated with Riedel Communications to deploy customized non-public 5G as a service in campus communities.

A press release stated that the German media provider company plans to cooperate with ZTE to explore potential community providers and infrastructure to serve large-scale occasions.

ZTE provided Reid Communications with an end-to-end smart campus network solution based on the 5G Stand Alone architecture, including ZTE’s large-capacity baseband unit (BBU), 5G pad remote unit (RRU) and i5GC (industrial 5G core) Network)), paving the information highway for Industry 4.0 and digital upgrades.

For vertical industries, 5G private networks with customized functions, precise SLAs, and cost reductions can be purchased on demand, shortening the time to market and further accelerating the pace of enterprise digitization.

According to the press conference, 5G SA is a new core architecture with high potential features, supporting eMBB, mMTC, uRLLC, edge computing, slicing, third-party integration and other capabilities, improving flexibility, efficiency, openness and customization capabilities. Manufacturing companies in the smart park can realize remote product and facility monitoring, and realize automated and flexible production lines.

Use the quality inspection module based on AI and 5G machine vision to transmit ultra-high-definition video of the product, quickly identify defective products, and further improve the quality of the finished products in the park.

Network slicing allows industries to deploy the services they provide to end customers, thereby supporting B2B2C applications with guaranteed SLA and QoS. This will play a key role in enabling service providers to provide innovative services, enter new markets and better promote new partnerships.

"As one of the global 5G leaders, ZTE is convinced that 5G is driving the development of vertical industries and the digital transformation of the industry. Deploying a variety of 5G applications will transform traditional manufacturing to smart manufacturing, while reducing costs and increasing ZTE’s German representatives. Yang Lin, the managing director of the office, said, “During the cooperation, ZTE has provided a campus network with a flexible architecture that can be easily expanded to the scale of a campus or separate campuses. Application platforms and devices can also be integrated into the campus network for different use cases. "

This cooperation is the first step for Riddle and ZTE to jointly explore the value of 5G in vertical industries. With 5G's solid network foundation, it is foreseeable that in the future, follow-up open platforms and diversified applications based on 5G will further innovate.
