The Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game return to Pasadena in 2022! If you’re planning to take transit to get to either event this Saturday, here’s how to safely do it.

Getting to the Rose Parade

Metro will run on Sunday/holiday schedule on Jan. 1, New Year’s Day, with added capacity on the L Line (Gold). Rail service begins around 4 a.m. Face coverings are required on board Metro and at Metro stations. You can also read up on the Tournament of Roses COVID-19 requirements here. The stations with the best access to the Rose Parade route are:

There is parking available at many Metro Rail stations. Some lots are paid, some are free, be sure to check here before you head out. It’s $8 a day to park at Los Angeles Union Station. For those who wish to park in DTLA or East LA and ride the L Line to Pasadena, keep in mind that the Little Tokyo/Arts District Station is currently closed due to construction. L Line riders from East LA will need to transfer to a bus shuttle to Union Station to continue their trip.

Getting to the Rose Bowl

Take the L Line to Memorial Park Station in Pasadena; then it’s just a short walk to Parsons Parking Lot B for the free bus shuttle that drops you off next to the stadium. Rose Bowl shuttle service begins at 9 a.m. on Jan. 1 and runs until 90 minutes after the game.

If you are riding a Metro bus after the game, check the individual timetables for last bus times leaving Pasadena as buses will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on New Year’s Day. Game day parking at the Rose Bowl or the Parson’s lot starts at $40.

Getting to the Post Parade Area for Float Viewing via Metro

After the parade, floats are displayed near Victory Park in Pasadena. On Jan. 1, shuttle service from Sierra Madre Villa Station to the Post Parade viewing area runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Jan. 2, shuttle service from the station to Post Parade Park will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.

Load your fare on a reusable TAP card which can be purchased at all Metro Rail stations for $2, or use your phone to pay by downloading the TAP app. iPhone users can also add a TAP card to Apple Wallet. The regular one-way fare is $1.75 and includes two hours of free transfers. Some tips to speed your journey:
